The UvA/AUAS RDM Support Programme is a coordinated effort of the Library, ICT Services, Academic Affairs and O2 to develop facilities which will simplify good data research management.
RDM Policy is directed by Academic Affairs. It aims at drawing up a clear code of conduct for all UvA staff who deal with research data.
RDM Support is directed by the Library. It aims at setting up an efficient service, online as well as offline, to support staff and provide good training courses for all involved.
RDM Storage is directed by ICT Services. It aims at providing facilities for managing and sharing data during ongoing research.
The RDM Repository project is directed by the University Library. It aims at creating a repository for archiving and publishing the research data of completed research projects.
The programme is led by a committee chaired by Maria Heijne, director of the UvA and HvA Libraries. The other members of the committee are Babs van den Bergh (head of Academic Affairs), Bert Voorbraak (director of ICT Services), Renze Brandsma (head of the sector Digital Services University Library) and Paul Boersma (Faculty of Humanities). Programme manager is Driek Heesakkers (Digital Services University Library).
A committee is instituted to act as a sounding board to give advice, both asked and unasked. Members are Bea Krenn (Technology Transfer Office), Rudy Scholte (Amsterdam Medical Center), Jessika van Kammen (Amsterdam Medical Center), Hans Dijkman (Ethical Committee Informatics Institute Faculty of Science) and Joeri Nortier (SURFfoundation).
The projects each have their own project manager and steering committee.
The programme started in September 2013 and will run until the summer of 2016.
