To help you make the most of UvA/AUAS figshare a number of manuals are available.
Access
All researchers at UvA and AUAS all have access to UvA/AUAS figshare. For security reasons, two-factor authentication is required: you log in with your UvAnetID or HvAID, and confirm your identity with a code that is sent to your mobile phone.
In UvA/AUAS figshare you can safely store your research data and related files. In this manual you’ll find everything you need to know about creating items, uploading files, and publishing your items.
To be able to quickly find a particular item, the characteristics (or: metadata) you assign to the item are crucial. In the metadata manual the various metadata fields you’ll encounter in the upload screen are explained.
You can use figshare to share files with others, whether they are within or outside UvA/AUAS. To do so, you use Projects. In the Projects manual all ins and outs of Projects in UvA/AUAS figshare are described.
You are the manager of every Project you create in UvA/AUAS figshare. To enable you to quickly look up what to do and how to do it, we've created an excerpt of the full Projects manual that focuses on managing Projects.
As a Project manager, you can assign two roles to people you invite to your Project: viewer and collaborator. Because the people you invite may not be familiar with figshare yet, we've created a short manual for each of these two roles. You can email either of these to the people you invite, according to the role you've given them in your Project.
