More and more often specific requirements are made concerning the archiving and management of research data, not only by funders and (journal) publishers, but also by the University of Amsterdam itself.
The UvA/AUAS Library and the ICT services provide facilities to support researchers in managing their data.
On the RDM website you can find all the information you need about planning, archiving and sharing research data.
Research data can be stored in data archives. These repositories may be used in two ways: both for archiving your own research data and for consulting and reusing the research data of other researchers. For the most important data archives and repositories, see Finding data.
Cambridge Structural Database: small-molecule crystal structures
ChemSpider: chemical structures and related information
eCrystals: X-ray crystallographic data
PubChem: ‘small’ molecules and their compounds
Since September 2017, all UvA researchers have access to UvA/AUAS figshare. In UvA/AUAS figshare you can store your research data safely and still have access: your files are stored on ISO certified servers in Switzerland, and you can access them from any computer with an internet connection.
You can also safely share, archive and publish your research data. Your file is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a unique permanent link you can use in articles and presentations.
If you have a general question about research data management, please contact RDM Support. For subject-specific questions, please contact the information specialist for Chemistry.
