At the conclusion of your research project, you are obliged to save the raw research data for at least five years and to make them available to other researchers upon request. You can do this yourself, but you can also choose to store your data in a data repository.

Retention period

UvA and HvA require researchers, following the Dutch code of conduct for scientific integrity, to retain raw research data for an appropriate period of time. A commonly used retention period is at least ten years.

UvA/HvA figshare

UvA/AUAS figshare is the institutional data repository of the UvA and AUAS. In UvA/AUAS figshare you can safely archive and publish your data. Your file is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a unique permanent link you can use in articles and presentations.

External data archive

If you want to use an external data archive, contact RDM support of the Library or your data steward for advice.
